Leading Leg Front Kick

The "weapon" used in this close range technique is the ball of the foot. The targets best suited for this kick is the opponents knee, thigh or groin areas.

Starting from front stance....

Picture 1
Keeping your hands in the defensive guard position, rotate your hip backwards allowing your front foot to lag behind momentarily
(referred as the 'Pre-Stretch' position).
Picture 2
Tuck the heel in towards the back of your thigh
(referred as the 'Chamber' position).
Picture 3
You will notice your foot will want to spring out. Allow it to do so whilst pushing your hips forward and simultaneously pushing off your supporting leg so that the heel is lifted off the ground. Picture 4

As your foot accelerates forwards towards the target keep your knee slightly higher than your waist height, this will ensure that the energy that has been generated is directed through the target.

At the point of contact (prime targets being below waist height - knees, thighs, groin etc), continue to kick forwards through the target to dissipate the energy of the kick.

Recoil your leg upwards and backwards from the target. Picture 6
Finally control your leg back down into a stable front stance. Picture 7
