Rear Hand Palm Strike

The "weapon" used in this technique is the heel of the palm, as shown in the photograph below. The primary target(s) for this technique are the attackers face, jaw, cheek, nose and temples.

Heel of the palm

Palm Heel
Starting from front stance.... Picture 1
Push off with the rear foot so that your heel is lifted off the ground bringing your body weight forward. Picture 2
Keeping your hands up in the defensive guard, retain your rear arm whilst you rotate your hips forward so that your shoulders are square onto the attacker and your chest has opened. Picture 3

At the optimum point (referred as the 'Pre-Stretch' position), release your rear arm and allow your palm to accelerate towards the target ensuring your elbow is lower than your hand.

Picture 4
Contact is made using the palm of your hand (with your fingers curled slightly) to the attackers chin, nose etc.

Continue to accelerate through the target until all the energy is dissipated.

Finally relax your arm back into the original defensive guard position.
