BRAZILIAN JIUÂ JITSU (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and self defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.
At DSD Academy we teach BJJ in the Gi, and also 'No-Gi'; which is typically known as 'Submission Grappling'.
With roots in Judo, BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground.
It is a high intensity martial art that can help students to structure their life, develop discipline and respect, build healthy habits and increase their self-confidence.
The concept of ‘community’ is central to the philosophy of BJJ instruction at DSD Academy: everyone is welcome, with ‘inclusivity’ being at the heart of our teaching.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONING
The comprehensive grappling system is ideal for building stamina, core strength, balance, reaction, flexibility, mobility, and coordination.
