Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and self defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.
With roots in Judo, BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground.
It is a high intensity martial art that can help students to structure their life, develop discipline and respect, build healthy habits and increase their self-confidence.

The most important aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is that it is effective at self defence. This is true for men and women, boys, girls, young and old. The DSD Academy has classes for everyone. Even kids can learn the art of BJJ to help them in all aspects of their life.
